I threw Young Magic‘s Melt album into my iTunes/iPhone recently and every time I put my songs on shuffle, a song comes on that makes me pause to check and see who it is, it is usually Young Magic. Their music balances light and heavy beautifully with the use sparkly, delicate sounds and atmosphere but also heavy handed percussion, often in the same song. It’s brilliant. Each song is like a journey to an exotic place, and that place has a beach. If you love M83, you’ll love Young Magic.
