The last time a sophomore album was as good as, or dare I say BETTER THAN the first, doesn’t come to mind very quickly. I was over-saturated with Florence’s last album due to all of the radio play and film/tv uses, so it isn’t as bright and shiny as it once was to me. It is a fantastic album, don’t get me wrong, but this one Ceremonials hits ALL of the right places musically all over again; lyrically heart-breaking/opening, a hint of darkness, her signature big fat, driving percussion and the HUGE feeling that her voice brings. Every.Single.Song.Is.Gorgeous.
She still stands out as one of the best live performances I have ever seen.
